1. Introduction
Welcome to QR Here ("we", "our", or "the Service"), operated by QR Here. We believe that everyday utility tools should respect user privacy by design. This Privacy Policy explains how our website operates, what data is processed, and our strict zero-knowledge architecture.
2. Client-Side Processing Architecture
When you use QR Here to scan a QR code with your camera or generate a new custom code, all processing occurs directly in your web browser memory sandbox. We use JavaScript and WebAssembly to parse and render codes locally. Your video frames, photos, and generated payloads are never uploaded, stored, or processed on any remote server.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
Because our architecture is completely client-side: we do not collect or store your camera video feed; we do not store uploaded image files or screenshots; we do not log or store QR code payload data (such as scanned URLs, Wi-Fi passwords, contact cards, or text notes); and we do not maintain user accounts or require registration.
4. Data Generated via In-Browser QR Generation
When you create a custom QR code using our generator, the text, link, Wi-Fi password, or vCard details you enter remain entirely in your browser memory. Vector SVGs and PNG image files are synthesized locally using HTML5 Canvas and mathematical algorithms. No copy of your generated QR code is retained by us.
5. Camera and Media Permissions
To scan physical QR codes using your device webcam or mobile camera, your browser will ask for camera permission via the standard MediaDevices API. This permission is controlled entirely by your browser. We only request camera access when you explicitly activate the camera scanner. The video stream is processed frame-by-frame in volatile device memory and released when scanning stops.
6. Web Analytics and Advertising
We use lightweight web analytics (Google Analytics 4) to monitor aggregate website traffic, device types, and pageviews. Analytics do not track or record your scanned QR codes, image contents, or generated payloads. Google AdSense auto ads may serve contextual advertisements in compliance with standard Google privacy guidelines.
7. Data Security & Storage
Because we do not operate databases storing user payloads or images, there is no centralized database vulnerable to data breaches. Your data remains in your control on your personal device at all times.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or changes in web standards. The latest revision date will always be displayed at the top of this page. If you have questions about our privacy practices, please contact us at qrhereonline@gmail.com.
